If your child suffers from an illness where they may need some immediate or lifesaving medication during a session (ie inhaler, epipen, insulin), you will be asked to sign a consent form to allow the staff to give the medication to your child and a Health Care plan will need to be completed before the child can start. Should creams for skin conditions (eczema) be required, permission will be sort and a Health Care plan written. The staff fill in the forms once the medication has been administered. Should your child require this type of medication or other medication which may involve staff training, please state this on your child’s registration form.
Staff won’t administer medication such as paracetamol or antibiotics to your child. If your child needs this type of medication and is not on a Health Care plan, then you need to keep your child at home. If your child is ill at pre-school, we contact you as soon as possible. Please ensure all the emergency contacts are updated. Should creams need to be applied for nappy changing reasons, then permission from parents is needed.
